OPHELIA RAVENWOOD
Meet the characters.
The people who make these stories their own.
Brick by Brick
Nick · A Deaf man whose life reaches beyond the label of incarceration. His relationships, wit and choices belong at the center of his story.
Merry
Merry can turn a scarf into a feather boa and an ordinary evening into a production. Blunt, theatrical and fluent in ASL, she has a comeback ready for Nick and very little patience for anyone who talks past him. She loves a grand entrance, an argument over dessert and the company of people who can give as good as they get. But the friend who always charges ahead doesn’t always know what to do next. Sometimes she needs Juliet to take the keys, make the tea and let her stop being brave for a while.
Juliet
Juliet has checked the route, read the rules and probably noticed the detail everyone else missed. She also knows exactly how to puncture Merry’s latest dramatic declaration. Faith, fluent ASL and a dry sense of humor are part of the life she brings to her friendships, along with a fondness for theatre and the conversation afterward. Her careful plans make room for people, but they cannot protect her from uncertainty. Behind the steady presence is someone who needs reassurance too, even when she’s the one offering it.
