OPHELIA RAVENWOOD

About Ophelia Ravenwood.

Stories of belonging. Worlds of possibility.

Ophelia Ravenwood writes about outsiders, complicated hearts and places that are rarely as simple as they first appear. Sometimes those places are castles or enchanted houses. Sometimes they are a familiar street, a theatre lobby or a room where everyone assumes they understand one another.

Across contemporary fiction, queer romance, Gothic stories and fantasy, Ravenwood returns to questions of belonging, identity, memory and the freedom to choose a different future. Deaf and disabled characters have lives that include desire, humor, ambition, friendship and contradictions, alongside the barriers they encounter.

The stories make room for found family, difficult affection, animals with considerable importance and people who are still becoming themselves. Hope can arrive quietly: through an honest conversation, an unexpected friendship or an ordinary evening someone once thought they would never have again.

Ravenwood is the author of Brick by Brick.
